Investigating variations in the dust emissivity index in the andromeda galaxy

Over the past decade, studies of dust in Andromeda galaxy (M31) have shown radial variations emissivity index ($\beta$). Understanding astrophysical reasons behind these may give clues about chemical composition grains, their physical structure, and evolution dust. We use $^{12}$CO(J=1-0) observations taken by Combined Array for Research Millimeter Astronomy (CARMA) maps derived from \textit{Herschel} images, both with an angular resolution 8" spatial 30 pc, to study $\beta$ across area $\approx$ 18.6 kpc$^2$ M31. extract sources, which we identify as molecular clouds, applying astrodendro algorithm $^{12}$CO maps, a byproduct allows us compare continuum emission CO alternative ways finding clouds. then catalogues investigate whether there is evidence that different inside outside Our results confirm seen previous studies. However, find little difference between average clouds compared disagreement models predict increase dense environments. Finally, some traced very be either dominated atomic gas or contain CO.
